Everything you need to reserve your place at an Iboga Journey weekend in Alberta, Canada.
Booking an Iboga Journey ceremony takes three steps. First, schedule a free 30-minute consultation call with Treenz, the facilitator; everyone must complete this call before placing a deposit. Second, once Treenz confirms the ceremony is right for you and sets your substance-free timeline, confirm your place with a deposit, which is not refundable or transferable. Third, prepare, arrange accommodation for the night after the ceremony, and travel the day before if you are coming from far away. Ceremonies run Friday morning to Sunday afternoon for two to eight guests at Iboga Journey’s long-established ceremony space in Alberta, and full pricing is shared during your consultation.

Begin your preparation as soon as your place is confirmed. Guests who are flying in or driving a long way are encouraged to travel the day before, and all guests must stay locally the night following the ceremony (two nights if flying in). The nearest major international airport is about a 30-minute drive from the ceremony space, with car rentals and a direct non-stop bus available.
This is not a clinical or medically supervised retreat. Substance use, pharmaceutical use, mental health disorders and poor health create risk that requires more time and supervision than Iboga Journey provides. Before their ceremony, guests must be free from all drugs, pharmaceuticals, medications and alcohol. In some cases more time is required, and a phone consultation is needed to determine whether a guest may join and how long they must be substance-free.
Iboga Journey’s screening covers both physical and psychological health. Those who meet the parameters do not need medical examinations, because raw root bark has no immediate onset and is offered slowly enough for amounts to be adjusted early for anyone with higher sensitivity.

Provided by Iboga Journey
Iboga Journey has served for more than a decade and has hosted hundreds of individual journeys. Treenz, who owns Iboga Journey and was initiated into the Bwiti tradition in Cameroon as Nganga, attends to every detail throughout the three days. Guests are offered a safe space held in confidence and love, a space where surrender becomes natural, and providers are present any moment a guest needs them.
The respect for silence in Iboga Journey ceremonies is much different from a Bwiti ceremony. The Western ego has far thicker walls, and silence is the most effective environment for the medicine to penetrate to the core.
Iboga is from West Africa, and respect is given to the tradition in many ways, including the use of raw root bark and moving into Bwiti music on the second night. The ceremony also incorporates First Nations traditions such as the talking stick and calling in the directions, which feels appropriate while treading lightly on land with Indigenous energies. Many additions to the ceremony have been intuitive and can be unique to each group. Being comfortable with the providers is very important, so please reach out with any questions.
A deposit confirms your place once your consultation is complete, and the remaining balance is brought to the ceremony. The full price is shared during your 30-minute consultation call with Treenz rather than published online, because the conversation comes first. Deposits are not refundable or transferable.
