Your Thoughts Are Not Your Thoughts

Great Day Everyone,

How are you all feeling?  I wanted to share with you, something that really resonated with me recently after listening to Philip Andrews, the Abundance Alchemist.  I refer many people to him for his nervous system mastery program.  I have purchased many of his courses as they have taught me so much.

We tend to believe that because a thought appears in our consciousness, it belongs to us.

I thought it, therefore, it must be true.  I thought it, therefore it must mean something about me.  I thought it, therefore I need to do something about it.

But what if thoughts are more like frequencies moving through a field of universal intelligence?

Thoughts arise constantly.  Some are loving.  Some are fearful.  Some are strange, repetitive, judgmental, inspired, creative or completely irrational.

We don’t necessarily choose which thoughts arrive.

We do participate in which ones we hold onto.

And perhaps that is where our power lies.

The Thought Is Not the Problem

A thought can pass through your awareness without becoming part of your reality.

It is when we grab onto a thought, believe it, judge it, resist it or begin building a story around it that emotion often follows.

“Not every thought that passes through you is meant to become your truth” Treenz

A thought appears:

Something is wrong.

If we simply notice it, it may disappear as quickly as it arrived.

But if we attach ourselves to it:

Something is wrong.  I know something was wrong.  Why hasn’t this person responded? Maybe they’re upset with me.  Maybe I did something. Maybe I’m going to lose this relationship.

Now the body begins responding.

Anxiety.  Tightness.  Fear. Sadness.

The original thought may have lasted a second.

But our relationship with that thought can last hours, days, or even years.

Where Energy Goes, Energy Follows

From a spiritual perspective, we might thing of consciousness as an enormous field of information.

Thoughts move through that field continuously.

We cannot control everything that enters our awareness, but we can become more conscious of what we resonate with, feed and energize.

This is where vibration comes in.

When a thought passes through us and we attach emotion to it, we give it energy.

Fearful thoughts resonate with fear.

Angry thoughts can activate anger.

“I am a manifestation of your world just as you are a manifestation of mine.” Philip Andrews

Grateful thoughts can open us into gratitude.

Loving thoughts can soften us into love.

This doesn’t mean we should force ourselves into “positive thinking” or pretend difficult emotions don’t exist.

Quite the opposite.

It means becoming curious enough to notice:

What am I giving my life-force energy to right now?

You don’t have to believe everything you think.

One of the greatest freedoms we can cultivate is the ability to witness thought without immediately becoming the thought.  Iboga plays a big role with this, being the witness of your thoughts, emotions and experiences.

Instead of I’m afraid.

We can notice:

Fear is here.

Instead of:

I’m not good enough.

We can recognize:

There is a thought  moving through me that says I’m not good enough.

That timely shift creates space.

And inside that space lives choice.

You can become curious:

Is this thought true?

Is it mine, or is it something I learned?

Does it belong to an old wound?

Is it coming from fear, conditioning or intuition?

What happens in my body when I believe it?

What happens if I simply allow it to pass?

Not every thought deserves a conversation.

Not every thought deserves your belief.

And certainly not every thought deserves your energy.

Becoming the Observer

Perhaps consciousness isn’t asking us to control the mind.

Perhaps it is inviting us to become the one who witnesses the mind.

Thoughts can come.

Thoughts can go.

Emotions can rise.

Emotions can move.

And underneath all of it, there is something quieter.

Awareness.

The part of you capable of noticing the thought without becoming consumed by it.

The more we cultivate that awareness, the more discerning we become about which thoughts we choose to nourish.

Because maybe the question isn’t:

How do I stop having this thought?

May be the question is:

Why am I giving this thought my attention?

Your thoughts may move through the vast field of consciousness.

Your emotions may show you which ones you have touched, believed or held onto.

But you still get to choose what you feed.

You are not every thought that passes through you.

You are the awareness that gets to decide which thoughts become sacred guests,  and which ones are simply allowed to keep moving.

This is a long letter, so congratulations on getting to the end.  Would love to know how this all landed for you.  I find this fascinating and when I feel into really taking on, that my thoughts are not my thoughts.  They are universal intelligence.  I feel relieved, lighter and more curious about how to navigate the world in a way that serves my highest and greatest good and for the good of others.

I often refer people to a local company called www.mindfulmeds.io for micro dosing support with tapering off medications for anxiety, depression, sleep, substance use support etc.  Please feel free to use the code: iboga to get a 15% discount.

Much love and appreciation to you all.

With gratitude,

Basse,
